She a genius! *smile* Kenzie speaks Russian! Her current favorite syllable is "da" I say "Kenzie, are you hungry?" "Da!" "Are you tired?" "Da!" "Do you want this toy?" "Da! da!" Just in case you speak about as much Russian as I do, "Da" means "yes".
She is learning a little sign language, too. I think there might actually be a glimmer of actual understanding there, though. We are just working on the know- milk, eat, more...that sort of thing. She does an excited double fisted "Milk" (looks like you are milking a cow). "More" is more like applause with her so far, and eat is still entirely missed on her. She still gets her point across though.
Bible school is going really well. I am teaching Rec for 1st through 5th grade. We are having a blast. Ashtyn is bringing a friend from school- they both seem to be loving it. And Kenzie has attached herself to a young lady who is helping in the baby room. She tends to choose a fav wherever we go. If I am there, I usually get the honor...Tia kept her a few weeks back, and se latched onto her Tio...this week it is the granddaughter of a very sweet lady at our church...she must be around 12 or 13, and they are buds.

Keeping up

Kenzie adores her big brother and sister. She lights up when she sees them...she loves nothing more than playing with them. So now that she is crawling, she follows them everywhere, which is making me realize how not baby friendly most of their toys are. I am constantly reminding the older two..."pick up the Legos, put away your Polly, you cannot make that craft with Kenzie at your heels." Their solution this afternoon was to go into the girls room and close the door. And there was Kenzie, hot on their heels. The door shut just before she could reach it, so I had to rescue her, banging on the door and whining to be let in. Poor baby- I was the youngest, too, so I remember the feeling of wanting to play with your big sister and facing a closed door! But at the same time, they are 3 1/2 and 6, so they do want to play big kid things sometimes! Somehow I see this getting more complicated as she gets older :)

Nick Hotel and turning 30

Shaun celebrated his 30th birthday this weekend. He reported that he was sorry that he could no longer say he was in his 20s, but other than that, he took it just fine. We had an entire weekend of celebrations, so that helped, too! He reserved a room at the Nickelodeon Family Suites through his work (Thanks John!), and took Friday off. So we had a great time by the amazing pool (which is more like a water park). We brought my nephews, too, and the kids had smiles from ear to ear all day! Saturday we went to the lake property and rode jetskis and went water skiing (thanks Tia and Tio and Aunt Lana and Rick!) After all that fun in the sun, my girls are both brown as they can be...and Mason and I managed not to get burned and get a little color, too. Nothing compared to the girls though. After all the busyness, we kept Father's day simple and quiet...we ordered pizza with my Dad at their house. This week they are attending VBS at the church we go to Mops week is Outrigger Island at our church! The summer is off to a busy start for sure.

It has been a few days, but I finally got the pictures off my camera...Ashtyn's recital was a huge success. She danced like the ballerina in her favorite book- "light on her feet". Here she is just after the performance:

Today was also her last day of kindergarten. They had a little awards ceremony for the kids in her classroom...Daddy went, and only took one picture that has other kids in it, so I am not allowed to post it! He did do a great job video taping however, so at least I got to see her play her hand bells and get her award! She did really really well in kindergarten- I cannot get over how well she is reading and writing and even doing math! Mackenzie is very happy to have her big sister home with her for the summer, though! Here they are this afternoon, after a swim:

On the move!

(Revised title, compliments of Shaun "Mobile, Agile, and Hostile")
She's done it! She is officially a little carpet crawler. Actually, she reminds me a little of a Marine at boot camp the way she low crawls across the floor. Many of you may call it an army crawl, but around here, the motto is Semper Fi, so I say it looks like a Marine. More like her Daddy every day! Here she goes:
